This violin is styled on the Guarneri pattern, and follows that maker's c-bout and f-hole shapes in an unmistakable manner. It has a generic Guarneri label in the usual place. It is not clearly German in my view and could be East European, or from elsewhere.
The materials are of good quality - a mildly flamed maple back and ribs, combined with a good medium-grained tone-spruce top. The neck and scroll are of plain wood. Whereas the whole instrument is nicely made, consistent with good trade standards, the scroll is somewhat lacking in finesse and balance and seems to be merely functional.
The violin bears the marks of the usual artificial aging practices and is not as old as it pretends to be. It is in very good condition.
This is a well-toned violin that will serve an advanced student to great effect and satisfaction.
