The workmanship is impeccable from every perspective.
The pernambuco stick is cut round. The ebony frog is fully silver-mounted and has an attractive silver Fleur-de-Lys motive in both flanks. Lapping is of silver wire and the thumbpad of black leather with an imitation lizard skin texture. The button is of silver with a mother-of-pearl inlay in the tip. The tip is of bone.
This bow's playing properties are good - it is firm and very well-balanced allowing for good articulation.
Such is the popularity of these bows among very advanced and professional cellists that they never make it onto this website - they are usually all sold before they make it into the public domain. After having imported some 30 of them over a number of years, this is the first time one is displayed here.
