This old cello is of unknown origin but is certainly a trade instrument from probably the 1950s or a bit earlier. It has recently been fully restored and has several repairs to it, both in the top and the back. All these repairs have been professionally carried out and are stable.
The materials are nevertheless good - particularly the back is of a finely curled maple and the top of medium to narrow grained spruce. This cello sounds really good, with a mature tone.
This is a very basic instrument that is fully functional and would serve as an excellent beginner's cello or first upgrade for a talented student. It is sold with a nice zip-up canvas carry bag.
