This violin's German origin is stated in the generic Stradivari label it is fitted with. It is undated and was probably made around 1920 or bit earlier.

It is in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs and dates from a period when the production of affordable and well-made German and French trade instruments reached its zenith.

Instruments like these are an excellent and affordable alternative to the junk trade instruments that are being imported per ton into this coutry from low-end sweat shops in the far east, which serve virtually no purpose (because nothing can make them sound good) and which ultimately benefit nobody - and certainly not music.

This violin is mature, stable, well-used and sounds great - offering a rewarding experience to any young musician's efforts.

Good condition, without cracks in the front or back. A minor crack in the button has been repaired and in no way threatens the structural security of the violin, which should serve for many more decades.

It has a chinrest which was removed for the photos.
